Meet Sharayah, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 11 years old. But her twin sister says it best: Sharayah has never been a victim to it. With resilience and an unstoppable spirit, Sharayah continues to thrive, thanks to the incredible care and support from the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes and the Children's Diabetes Foundation. Together, they’ve been there every step of the way, helping Sharayah live her fullest life.

Their journey with type 1 diabetes has been filled with unexpected challenges, but the Barbara Davis Center has been by their side every step of the way. From the moment of diagnosis, through every high and low, the family has found comfort in knowing they aren’t just another patient. They’ve been supported as a unit, guided through every aspect of their new normal with compassion and care. The doctors, nurses, and social workers have given them the strength to take things moment by moment, and for that, they are forever grateful.

Anna was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just three years old, her blood sugar levels dangerously high at 500. After immediate care at Children’s Hospital, the family found themselves at the Barbara Davis Center, where they learned to navigate their new reality. Over the years, the Barbara Davis Center has continued to provide cutting-edge care and support for children with type 1 diabetes, helping not just the patients but their entire families. Now, both Anna and her sister Ellie, who also developed type 1 diabetes, thrive thanks to the world-class treatment they receive.

Annie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during her kindergarten year, after her parents noticed unusual symptoms. When they took her to the pediatrician, the diagnosis came swiftly, and their world turned upside down. Despite the fear and uncertainty, Annie bravely faced her first insulin shot, reassuring her mother with the words, "Mommy, you've got this." The family found support and care at the Barbara Davis Center, which has been their lifeline ever since. Annie, now actively participating in research for a cure, hopes for a future where no child has to live with type 1 diabetes.

Olivia's journey began in a state of hopelessness. Something was wrong. A trip to the pediatrician, a missed diagnosis, the hospital, and finally to the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Her family found hope here, like so many others, thanks to the amazing medical staff and support from the Children's Diabetes Foundation.

Hadley’s world changed with a type 1 diabetes diagnosis at just five years old. Thanks to the incredible care and technology from the Barbara Davis Center, she’s now thriving with the support of her pump and a community that empowers her every step of the way.
