- Needles/syringes will be allowed providing the passenger also has in their possession medication that
has a pharmaceutically printed label identifying the medicine.
- Boarding with lancets for blood sugar monitoring is acceptable as long as lancets are capped, and as long
as the lancets are brought on with the glucose meter.
- The FAA recommends that passengers traveling with a glucagon kit keep it intact in its original pre-printed
pharmaceutically labeled container.
- Program into your cell phone (or carry) emergency phone numbers such as parents, doctors, HMO’s, and pharmacy
and keep these numbers with you at all times.
- Be prepared for delays and carry adequate snacks. Also, check with the airline to find out if meals will or
will not be served.
- If you plan on traveling to a different time zone work with your doctor on adjusting your insulin doses.
- Always have your medical identification with you.
- If you should have a problem with security, please ask to speak to one of the airline managers or
a security supervisor to resolve the issue.
